Top Villa on Top of a Mountain

The villa is a villa that, when you embrace it, immediately returns the holiday feeling to you. Mind you, you are on top of a mountain, in a rural area between the inhabitants of Kastello. View from the villa (roof terraces) is magnifique. The sounds of animals, insects, birds and people make you feel like you're in a nice movie.
The kitchen is modern, all appliances work, work space for cooking is good. Cooking materials all provided. Great fridge freezer! Plus an extra wine cooler. (Raki cooler).

Washing machine in the kitchen area but not "disruptive". And works well.

Downstairs are two toilets and shower rooms. Clean, modern and everything functions well. Solar cell on the roof, the sun has energy. If this fails, a switch to a boiler is possible.

The living room was more than adequate for us (we were as a couple). Sofa is good, round dining table with good chairs and a working modern television. The well-functioning WiFi is certainly important. This one can be a little faster if necessary, but everything you can do can be done. Can imagine that for a family the well-fitting sofa is a bit too small. A corner combination would not be out of place here so that you can expand with 2 to 3 seats.

All windows can be opened with shutters. The whole house exudes a history. This history is in the drawer in the kitchen (work table). Well worth seeing the photos of the owner Leonidas his family. You experience that you are not in a tight accommodation but in a villa in which people have lived and worked over a very long time in the past.

The downstairs bedroom is spacious, pleasant. Bed sleeps well and the room can be cooled with air conditioning (including the living room). Storage space is fine in this room and the bedside tables are spacious and equipped with easy-to-operate lamps. The room has a spacious dressing table with mirror. One the bathroom is directly adjacent to the bedroom.

You reach the upstairs bedroom via a staircase with slightly higher steps than average. Very spacious, this well equipped as the bedroom downstairs. My wife couldn't get rid of her dresses there, but that also depends on what you take with you, of course. In contrast to the downstairs bedroom, the bedroom has a well-functioning modern television. And from this room you come to two terraces. One with a slightly higher step. Be careful leaving the terrace for children or after too much raki. View is phenomenal.

Because the base / shell of the house is historic, you can hear every footstep that is taken upstairs in the living room downstairs. This belongs to the house and is not disturbing.

Above the kitchen is a spacious bedroom that we did not use, but looked good and cared for. This is an open space, so it cannot be closed off.

The garden is blooming and green. Birds, bees (non-aggressive), owls in the evening. Again a feeling of a beautiful Cretense movie all these sounds and colors.

The pool is perfect for relaxing and doing a few laps. The loungers are comfortable, but the birds like to defecate on them if you put them under the tree. Garden shower and garden kitchen available.

Nice and cozy dining and sitting terrace. Good table and good chairs.
The lighting outside is well thought out and works.

The villa is an absolute must for those who love a balance between rural luxury atmosphere, tranquility and Crete. The much-described people, families around tavern Maria make us come back to this villa in any case.
